Innovative solution to middle & high school math challenges
Entirely video-based Designed to be interactive, engaging and fun, yet standards-based. Nothing like the days of dreary math textbooks. Countless studies have shown that kids have different learning styles, and video learning is clearly the best option for a lot of kids, especially those who say "school is boring" or "I hate math".

Self-paced learning, mastery-basedSelf-paced courses offer the opportunity to really learn the material. The student can retake a section as much as needed. There's no reason to "get left behind" anymore, and no reason for the student (or parent) to fear math. Personalized learning but without the overhead of a tutor.
|
Self-gradingThe student can take and retake the quizzes and tests until he/she gets the grade he/she wants. Really, is the purpose of learning to get a grade or learn the material? The days of getting a "C-" and moving on are over.

Unlimited courses for $99/year - electives are included!
Standards-based Nexbooks math courses are entirely video-
based, self-graded,
and are perfect for:
Middle Schools
A dilemma that many middle schools face is the inability to provide modern, self-paced, distance-learning math curriculum to their student body. In the best of times, this option was needed for those students who did not thrive in traditional, book-based courses. And given recent events in the U.S., the need has skyrocketed.
Now, a middle school can simply adopt our math course list, at extremely affordable costs, and provide students with video-based courses for their 6th - 8th grades, including Algebra. The middle school can also deliver these on-campus, with each kid on a computer, even taking taking different courses, learning at their own pace. And this can all be facilitated by one adult staff in the room.

Home-School programs
Nexbooks courses are perfect for home-school families, as they are completely self-directed. With engaging videos and immediate assessments, the parent overseeing the course is free to help as much or as little as they need/want to.
For math subjects that interest both the parents and the kids, they may want to go through the course together, but for courses that are out of the expertise of the parent, the kid can take them entirely without support.
Home-school families love the 6th - 8th grade plus Algebra Nexbooks math course list!

At-Risk Youth
A major impediment of the success of our foster youth is in how often they are forced to switch schools . As a teacher in an alternative education high school, I would often take in new kids in the middle of the year, and the first few days/weeks would be spent trying to assess where the student "was at" academically from their previous school. Which textbook they were using? What "holes" in knowledge might exist? What topics and standards were already covered? Which were not? And so on and so on.
This loss of time and progress only hurts these kids, who have countless other frustrations associated with this transient lifestyle.
Imagine if the student's course could simply follow them wherever they go.
This is a major benefit of Nexbooks. Because the courses are entirely online and self-directed, the student only needs an internet connection; allowing them to login from any location, with absolutely zero loss in progress, time, or momentum. The new teacher can simply review the students progress in the Nexbooks course and facilitate the continuation of the student's work. Simple!

When a student is placed in Juvenile Hall, for whatever reason, the word to describe the outcome for their life is: "disruptive."
While a "stay" in Juvenile Hall can be short, kids often do not return to their same school. The impact on their academic progress can be devastating and long-term.
For each transition (from the original school, to Juvenile Hall, and on to a new school) the student's progress in academic classes comes to a halt, their credits must then be re-assessed, and another plan is clumsily put in place.
Imagine if the students' courses could simply follow them from place to place, so that with but the internet, they could simply resume progress from anywhere and at anytime. This is what Nexbooks offers: a seamless academic experience, with nothing more than the internet and a teacher to facilitate the progress.

Tutoring Centers
For many tutoring centers, the idea of having an online course to be used as a study tool is ideal. The tutor can simply enroll a student in a course, like Algebra 1 for example, and can use it as a guide to move forward. The tutor can also leverage the fact that the student can login in from anywhere, to assign homework, or recommend progress to be made at home, in addition to what they do together.
Cross-over courses, in particular, are super powerful. The idea of a cross-over course is that if a student knows which course they will be taking in the fall, they can take that same course over the summer before the school year, with a tutor, so that they are familiar with the topic, and have a much higher chance of acing the course. Nexbooks courses are perfect for cross-over courses, as they are completely self-directed, video-based, and cover the same standards that the student will see in the coming year. The tutor can be given access to the student's progress and grade reports, so that they can intervene and help where needed.

But Don't Take Our Word For It!
For the past 18 years, I have taught my children through charter schools' independent study programs. I have discovered your program through scrutinizing the online courses of every single vendor that offers them through our charter school. Your courses appear to be head and shoulders above all the rest. My son loved your Math 7A course, and I will be enrolling him in Math 7B for next semester. We are looking forward to your other courses being developed and becoming "live".

The videos are very helpful and easy to understand, as well as the whole layout of the website. I really like how you can retake the quizzes if you don't get the score you want the first try, and you get to keep your best score.
